Integration is the product
MusterKey is built around the movement of personnel information between systems. It can connect to existing maritime sources, normalize the incoming records, and expose structured personnel information through staff workflows, exports, and integration interfaces. That makes its engineering emphasis different from a conventional contact database.
People and sensitive records need controlled workflows
Personnel documents, qualifications, assignments, medical-fitness information, and family contacts have distinct operational uses. MusterKey gives staff a common record while separating self-service identity from administrative access. Crew members can submit updates and communicate with staff; update packages preserve a review step before changes move onward.
A visible handoff to downstream systems
Configured destinations can receive XML, CSV, or JSON through HTTP or SFTP. An outbox records delivery attempts and supports retries, so generating a payload is not mistaken for completing an integration. Source scheduling, certificate alerts, field mapping, and reporting provide the surrounding operations layer. Destination compatibility remains specific to each configured connector and should be assessed as part of an implementation.
